Books
Sure, I've heard that apparently there are services called 'Libraries' where dusty old books are made available to the masses at no cost, but the internet has made it even easier to access a broad range of information for free including...well, books. Hmmm...
Anyhoo, it's comforting to know that on those occasions or those who have neither the time nor inclination to head on down to the library, a number of print-based or electronic books are available to you through this website. Enjoy!
Diary File
- This site contains a collection of fascinating historical diaries and letters that you are invited to browse for free. These include letters from celebrities from the Golden Age of Hollywood, through to diaries of teachers from years past and even correspondence sent to passengers of the Titanic. Free LEGO Magazine
- If you have any master-builders in the family - particularly of the younger kind - this is the freebie for you. The LEGO Magazine is a print publication that provides device-free fun for crafty kids. Although people of all ages love lego, the magazine is primarily aimed at those aged 5-8. Colourful and lively, the magazine is packed with 28 pages of ideas and activities, and it can be sent to your house 4 times each year, for free. Check it out.
Discovery Channel
- Educators may request a free reference guide to the educational programming seen on the Discovery Channel.
Poetry.com.au
- While not exactly a book, this Australian resource offers free access to hundreds of inspiring poems, including both original poetry created by regular Aussies who are emerging in the field, as well as some of history's greatest classic works of poetry. Prepare to be moved.
